Seventeenth NPA Yorkshire Championships
Held at Holmfirth Civic Hall on Sunday 20th May, this was a massive
success for the NPA, the busiest it has ever been! It was great
to see the venue packed to the rafters with the audience very enthusiastic
– it was a magical atmosphere!
Juniors
1st: Juliann Shattock (Sunderland)
2nd: John Morris (Huddersfield)
3rd: Ryan Petford (Reading) – Best Presentation
All to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Juliann was in very
good condition especially. Ryan was the most massive in the class,
but not quite as ripped as he could be.
Masters
1st: Wesley Clarke (London)
2nd: Russell Toft (Doncaster)
3rd: Denton Wilson (Sheffield) – Best Presentation
4th: John Spooner Sheffield)
5th: David Rose (Leeds)
6th: Jeff Pursglove (Goole)
Top three to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Wesley is already
widely known for his top class professional physique. Russell has
a lot going for him, including massive quads, arms and chest. Denton’s
quads are also standout body parts in a classic physique.
Best Over 50 Award: Denton Wilson.
Novices
1st: Thomas Wandira (Luton) – Best Presentation
2nd: Wayne Braddock (Leeds)
3rd: Tim Shephardson (Lincolnshire)
4th: Chris Hanson Rotherham)
5th: Tosh Potterton (Scunthorpe)
Top two to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Thomas has built
a very well balanced and tight looking physique, with sharp looking
separations. Wayne packs a lot of muscle on his frame, with very
few weak points. Tim is as sharp as Kimberley-Anne’s tongue
if you get on the wrong side of her…and that’s sharp!
(Only joking Kim!)
Miss Physique
1st: Carol Streeter (Kent)
Carol will be the defending Champion at the NPA Britain Finals.
A very muscular looking lady, with superb balance and hard looking
abdominals.
Men’s Under 70kg
1st: Henry Uko (Luton)
2nd: Jon Boyle (County Durham) – Best Presentation
3rd: Richard McWilliam (Barton on Humber)
4th: David Kershaw (Bradford)
5th: George Fereos (London)
6th: Justin Kelly (Stockport)
Top two to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Some freaky physique,
Henry. He looks like he should be in the heavier category, but this
is an optical illusion caused by his tiny waistline and wide shoulders.
Men’s Under 78kg
1st: Paul Ennis (Leeds)
2nd: John Madourie (Sheffield)
3rd: Phil Beavan (Wirral)
4th: Simon Woodham-Owen (Wales) – Best Presentation
5th: Felix McAlinden (Northern Ireland)
Top two to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Again, Paul Ennis
gives the impression he’s a heavyweight, but that’s
all down to deep seps and great structure. John and Phil were shredded
beyond belief. Simon has a very promising physique, and he shouldn’t
let this fourth place hold him back.
Miss Trained Figure
1st: Kristelle Sammons (Middlesex) – Best Presentation
2nd: Trudy Wood (Manchester)
3rd: Angela Gee (Leeds)
4th: Allison Walls (Ossett)
5th: Nicola Thomas (Stamford)
6th: Louise Lindsay (Morley)
Top two to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Kristelle’s
got the perfect package here – graceful lines, athletic condition
and perfect confident presentation. Trudy’s legs are worth
the price of admission on their own.
Men’s Over 78kg
1st: Damon Brown (Barnsley)
2nd: Matthew Congreve (Wales) – Best Presentation
3rd: Anthony Stewart (Sheffield)
Top two to be invited to the NPA Britain Finals. Damon has a physique
in a million – amazing legs, abs and back. Matthew boasts
some incredible, ultra hard body parts – chest, abs, delts,
quads, you name it! Anthony is a big guy, with a mighty set of lats.
Overall Men’s Champion: WESLEY CLARKE.
It proves just how mature and muscular Wesley is, when an Over
40s winner can take on the much younger weight class winners, and
beat them!
